Workspace App

CLIENT AND BACKGROUND

Workspace is a commercial property company that provides office spaces to more than 4,000 businesses across 60 locations in London. Businesses primarily come to Workspace for renting office units and meeting rooms on flexible terms. However, the existing room-booking experience was a major pain point for tenants, limiting efficiency and revenue potential. My role was to help deliver a seamless, user-centric app that simplifies booking, drives higher occupancy and increases visibility of available spaces.

THE PROBLEM

User Friction: The booking journey was overly complex, leading to drop-offs. Financial Viability: Current space utilization (<40%) was insufficient to sustain revenue targets. Market Threat: Aggressive expansion by competitors (WeWork, Regus) was diminishing market share and visibility. Member Experience: Capitalize on the potential to deepen engagement with the 4,000+ existing businesses to mitigate churn risk.

MY ROLE

During my role as the Lead Product Designer, I took the app from an initial concept to a launch-ready MVP.

  • Collaborated on strategy: Worked alongside the Head of Design to define the product requirements and feature scope.
  • Mapped user flows: Translated complex booking requirements into clear user journeys and wireframes.
  • Built the prototype: Delivered the interactive prototypes used for stakeholder sign-off and developer handoff.
  • Owned the design system: Developed the UI component library to ensure consistency across the app.
  • Supported Development: Delivered detailed design specifications to engineers to ensure the final build matched the design vision.

SOLUTION

I helped delivered a native mobile app that delivered a frictionless booking experience.

  • Simplified room booking – Users can search and book based on location, size, and facilities.
  • Enhanced occupancy rates – Improved visibility and utilization of available spaces, by building a map-based browsing experience and ability to switch between nearby workspaces.
  • Strengthens community engagement – The app encourages tenant interaction and networking, resulting in improved customer satisfaction.

RESULT

  • 4.9 App Store Rating (achieved post-launch).
